GC-MS Laboratory Specialist

About the Role

At Entzimatiko, we are looking for a GC-MS Laboratory Specialist to join our growing industrial biotechnology team, dedicated to developing sustainable solutions for plastic recycling.

This full-time position offers the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment, contributing to the development and scale-up of innovative enzyme-based depolymerization processes. The role combines analytical laboratory work, method development, problem-solving, and close collaboration with colleagues from different technical areas.

What You Will Be Doing

In this role, you will contribute to a variety of analytical and development activities, including:

• Operating and supporting the maintenance of GC-MS instrumentation
• Participating in analytical studies related to enzyme-based depolymerization processes
• Assisting in the development, optimization, validation, and documentation of analytical methods
• Interpreting analytical data and helping ensure the quality and reliability of results
• Collaborating with colleagues across process development, engineering, production, and management teams
• Supporting laboratory documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality-related activities
• Contributing to pilot-scale and industrial-scale process development projects

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline
• Practical experience working with GC-MS instrumentation in laboratory or industrial settings
• Solid understanding of analytical chemistry techniques and sample analysis workflows
• Familiarity with GC-MS operation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and method development
• Ability to interpret chromatographic, spectrometric, and analytical data
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to data quality and reliability

Nice to Have

• While not essential, the following experience would be considered an advantage:
• Experience in industrial biotechnology, polymer science, recycling technologies, or chemical processing environments
• Exposure to analytical method validation and trace-level analysis in complex samples
• Familiarity with laboratory documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality systems
• Experience supporting pilot-scale or industrial-scale projects
• A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for working within multidisciplinary teams
